Possessed of a rare humor and a genuine love for people, this gifted teacher and natural entertainer was a legend in his own time. An authority on Ohio folk songs, his collection of 500 ballads is permanently housed in Ritter Library. His life was a happy song and the melody lingers on in our hearts.
