"The most popular man" in the class of 1931, Jess Petty immediately became a BW recruiter and traveled the region talking with prospective students and families. He became the registrar in 1947. The 1966 Alumni Merit Award winner, he continued to connect with alumni in retirement on BW's behalf. Described as a small man with a big heart, he touched thousands of lives with his calm demeanor, attention to detail and genuine concern for all. The Jess and Arline Petty Scholarship serves as a lasting reminder of this couple's commitment to BW students.
