Dedicated on September 5, 2024, this marker commemorates the United States Semiquincentennial and the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. The Maryland State Society, NSDAR, placed it in celebration of our country’s founding and the Patriots who fought for our freedom. It honors all those who helped to win the American Revolutionary War including women, people of color, and indigenous peoples, all of whom are underrepresented Patriots.
