Inscription. This building is one of the oldest in Sonora, constructed of brick and stunning natural rock. From the 1850's until the 1870's, Rueben Pasteur bought and sold gold dust at this location. Later it was a dry goods store operated by Edward and Bert Rehm. In the late 1920's the Bank of Italy, later the Bank of America, occupied a separate building on the rear portion of the lot. This was later combined into the building we see today.

In 1933, it became the Mountain Club Bar with rumors of illegal gambling. It was during this time the stunning antique mahogany back bar was installed. Since then, the building has housed several different drinking establishments. In 2003, a complete renovation was done on the building and was reopened as Legends in 2004
The Thirsty Prospector was established in 2020.
