1. The Lind Homes Marker
Inscription. George Lind built the house on the left in 1897, the same year he married Isabella Farnsworth. Lind served as county treasurer from 1926 to 1934. The home remained a private residence until the county purchased it in 1989. The Linds built several homes on Bullion Street.

George's brother, Thomas Lind, built the house on the right in 1898. It later became the home of Louis T. Milburn and his wife, Eileen McGuire Milburn. Louis was born in Mariposa in 1893 and was elected as the youngest state district attorney at the age of 25. He served in that position until his death in 1946. Louis was also the first Mariposa County Director of Veterans Services. The home remained in the family as a private residence until the county purchased it in 1989.

Louis had a collection of historical artifacts from Mariposa County, called the Milburn Collection, which included the Las Mariposas Map. This map depicts the California land grant claimed by Col. John C. Fremont. The map was conserved in 1992 by the California State Mining and Mineral Museum Association and is located at the Mariposa History Center along with the rest of the Milburn Collection.
