1. Washington Public School Bell and Flag Pole Marker
Inscription. The above bronze bell, as well as the flag pole with its stone base located south of the War Memorial, were relocated from the second Washington Public School, SS no.7, which was constructed in 1907 and closed in 1962. An uncovered early comment was that the big bell was too hard for the lady teacher to use so a hand bell was utilized to call the students for classes. The Plattsville Masonic Lodge purchased the school in 1962 and held their monthly meetings there until March of 2013 when the property was sold. The masons meeting room was also relocated and is now displayed here inside the former Chesterfield United Church.

Erected 2018 by Plattsville & District Heritage Society.
