1. Entrance to Edward Bulkeley Homestead Marker

Inscription.

These stone pillars are believed to mark the entrance to the home of Edward Bulkeley (1677-1748), son of the Reverend Gershom Bulkeley, the builder of the first grist mill on Dividend Brook.

While the pillars are a later addition to the homestead, Edward Bulkeley, and descendents of the Bulkeley family, occupied a home or homes in this area from the 1700s. These river stone pillars (one knocked down) and trough are all that remain today.
