1. Butler Saw Mill Marker
Inscription.
Captain William Butler built a long berm to create a holding pond for water to run his saw mill. This mill was destroyed by fire in 1868.

The burned out mill was replaced by a new building and sold to Robert Sugden, Jr. While in his ownership it was used by Sidney Bidwell from 1875 to 1878 for the production of railroad ties and lumber. A small amount of cement work is still visible at the saw mill along with two iron rods in vertical position. Everything else is gone.
