Mrs. Blanchard along with Mr. and Mrs. James Halverson attested. At the conclusion of the 1985 summer season this Third Hole was retired forever to commemorate this gubernatorial achievement. The conformation of that Hole (Tee, Sandtraps, Fairway and Green) disappeared in the general redesign and modernization of The Jewel in October 1985.
