1. Forsyth Cabin Marker

Inscription. This cabin was built by Andrew Barker Forsyth for his bride, Emily Elizabeth Moss in 1872. Andrew came to Utah as a boy of 14 in 1861, where he helped his father, John, install machinery in Brigham Young's Sugar House factory. When the machinery was finally set into motion, he threw the first wool into the carder. He came to Tooele County and the lone rock (adobe) farm in 1866. His father became manager of the woolen mill located nearby to the north, the walls of which remain standing. In 1872 Andrew married Emily Elizabeth Moss, who had come to E.T. City in 1869 with her parents, William F. Moss and Eliza Crich. Three of the ten Forsyth children were born in this cabin.
