1. Wayne Michael Hayes Freedom Garden Marker
Inscription. The Wayne Michael Hayes Freedom Garden is dedicated to the memory and honor of First Lieutenant Wayne Michael Hayes who gave his life for his country on July 6, 1967, in Quang Tri, Vietnam. He was a 1965 graduate of Olivet Nazarene University who served as a tank platoon commander during the Vietnam War.

Wayne was the first Olivet alumnus to die in that conflict. The Freedom Garden honors him and the other veterans of our area who have served our country in military service.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
