The Banqueting Hall
An elaborate series of courses was served, fish eggs, fowl and roast meat, all highly spiced to keep them fresh.
And so, a plentiful supply of drink was on hand mead, beer, wine and whiskey. Seated on his great chair at the head of the long oak table, the Clan Chieftain presided at the banquet. The high ranks sat around him, above the salt, the rest sat below the salt. The castle steward supervised the servants, ensuring that all guests were served with a ceremonial befitting their rank.
As the meal progressed, the Chieftains bard would provide entertainment by playing his harp and singing songs that celebrated the prowess of the MacCarthy Clan.
