1. Murder Hole Marker
Inscription. On the floor of this embrasure is the murder-hole that originally allowed the lobby area below to be covered by deadly fire in case the entrance was breached.

A large stone slab was removed which then left an opening through which an undesirable intruder could be attacked with deadly fire, boiling tar or even a sword or pike!
