Masonic Lodge
This building was moved here in early 2008 and was a gift from the Masonic Association Eastern District to Upper Canada Village. Built in 1863, it was originally located in the village of Kars, 85 kilometers northwest of here. Kars is now part of the City of Ottawa. For years, this building served as the home of Loyal Orange Lodge #35. It has been restored and furnished to represent a 19th century Masonic Lodge, one of many important fraternal organizations in 1860s Canada.
