In answer to our country's call
fifteen hundred of our citizens responded
and served wherever duty beckoned,
at home and over seas.

The majority of them saw service in
France, others in Belgium, Italy, Germany,
Siberia, on the Russian Coast and in
the near and far East.

All branches of the service
were represented land, water and air.

Of those who served two hundred were wounded
and forty two made the supreme sacrifice,
yielding up their lives in battle or in camp.

To those who so nobly wrought for
world liberty and democracy
we owe a solemn debt of gratitude.

Glory shall forever attend
the memory of their deeds.
