1. Église et dévotion à Masson Marker
En 1887, la paroisse qui prendra le nom de Notre-Dame-des-Neiges de Masson existe depuis seulement un an et déjà les travaux de construction de la première église sont bien entamés. À peine cinq ans plus tard, un incendie détruit entièrement le bâtiment. La même année, soit en 1902, une deuxième église est en chantier. Terminée deux ans plus tard, elle connaitra malheureusement le même sort que la première lors du grand feu de 1930.
Loin d'être découragés par ces deux évènements, les paroissiens tiennent à remplacer rapidement la deuxième église par une chapelle temporaire. Plus modeste, ce bâtiment est tout de même fréquenté jusqu'en 1959. Il faut en effet attendre près de 30 ans avant qu'une troisième église digne de ce nom voit le jour à Masson.

Church and Devotion in Masson
This church is the third one built in Masson in less than 75 years, between the late 19th century and the late 1950s. Far from being a unique situation in the region, this period was a booming time for the Catholic Church, all across Quebec.
In 1887, the parish that would take the name Notre-Dame-des-Neiges de Masson had only existed for a year, and the construction of the first church was already well underway. Just five years later, a fire completely destroyed the building. That same year, in 1902, a second church was under construction. Finished two years later, it unfortunately met the same fate as the first one during the great fire of 1930.
Far from being discouraged by these two events, the parishioners were eager to quickly replace the second church with a temporary chapel. More modest, this building was still used until 1959. In fact, it took nearly 30 years before a third church worthy of the name was built in Masson.
