1. Jan Brasser (Noord-Holland Dagsblad, Feb. 25, 2025, in Dutch). Full title: Diep spittend bij Jan en Trijntje Bult verdreef verzetsheld Jan Brasser (1908-1991) zijn demonen na de Tweede Wereldoorlog. Nu komt er in Limmen een monument - Excerpt (in translation):
A memorial stone honoring Jan Brasser, a resistance hero from Krommenie, was unveiled in Limmen on Sunday. The stone features a nameplate and his likeness, rectifying an error where his name had been omitted during the installation of a monument in 2022. The absence of his name had been a source of pain for Brasser’s descendants, and they are pleased(Submitted on June 15, 2026.)that the oversight has now been corrected.
Jan Brasser played a significant role as a resistance commander in North Holland during World War II. After the war, he struggled with traumatic memories of the conflict and the losses he had endured. In his efforts to overcome these demons, he often spent time working in the fields of the Bult family in Limmen, where he would physically exhaust himself through hard labor. The story of Brasser and his bond with the Bult family highlights not only his acts of resistance but also the lasting impact of the war on the psyches of survivors.
