Inscription.

English Translation:
Of the present-day buildings, only the Klinger Staircase, beside the “Round Corner”, still recalls the old Matthäikirchhof. Originally planned as the site of a Richard Wagner Monument, the staircase designed by Max Klinger disappeared with the construction of the new Stasi building in the late 1970s. However, it was documented and placed in storage. It was not until 2010 that a decision was made to rebuild this accessway to the site. The historic monument pedestal was reinstalled, and a modern memorial was created.
