Regarding Grant Elementary School. This Mission Revival style school was designed by G. Stanley Wilson and opened in 1935. It replaced the original 1889 school building that was razed following the 1933 Long Beach earthquake. The fountain was installed in 1896 and stands as a reminder of the first school.
