1. Shiels House Marker

Inscription.
This late Victorian home was built by G. Olivo Newman within his new twenty acre, subdivision. Prospect Place, the subdivision, for which Newman was owner and developer, is recognized as one of Riverside's first residential neighborhoods. The John Shiels family occupied this home as renters in 1901, purchased it in 1906, and family members resided in it until 1972.
