June 12, Facebook post from Regina B., wife of wounded veteran Phillip B. who in the wake of 9/11 answered the call to serve his country.

"There are moments in our lives that impact us far more than others. Some even life changing. Today is a day that I look upon with a complete mix of emotions. 18 years ago I received one of the most frightening phone calls of my life followed by 16 hours of pure agony and disbelief. Phillip was wounded in a battle in Afghanistan and was in surgery when they called to let me know. They didn't know the full effect of his injury but they knew he wasn't able to move his legs. I remember praying for God to spare his life and I didn't care what his injuries were, we needed him home. I don't live with his injury and I see him suffer daily but I THANK GOD for bringing him home. I am thankful for 18 more years of a dad for my kids, that Bella is growing up knowing daddy and that Sarah is in our lives. Thankful that our beautiful grand babies know and love their PawPaw. I hate what this day took away, but I focus on what we DO HAVE. Thank you Jesus for answered prayers. My heroes - Bennett G., Phillip B. and Dustin D. Thank you guys for your service and sacrifices."

Mt. Division. U.S. Army serving in Hindu Kush Mountains, Afghanistan

For most of us the Global War on Terrorism is just a memory, but for the men and women who served and the families who support them the after effects of their service are with them for the rest of their lives. Thank you to all GWOT veterans and their families. Please help Patriot Park Foundation honor all who have served.
