This monument stands as a tribute to all those who have served in the Armed Forces of the United States of America. They all have shared a portion of their lives preserving the honor and integrity of this great nation. Thank you for your services.

The first in the nation, this monument is dedicated to addressing the tragedy or veteran suicide. Sadly, veteran suicide reaches as far back as this great nation's infancy. During the Vietnam War, 58,220 service members died in combat. Since then, we have lost nearly 170,000 Vietnam veterans to suicide: That number is staggering and the tragic trend has continued to this day. Presently, we lose an average of 20 veterans a day to suicide. One is obviously too many.

This monument represents hope, hope that our struggling veterans of all wars will reach out, hope that all veterans see a grateful community and nation wanting to help, and hope that this monument will inspire other resources to come forward.
