Old City Hall
Music has been performed here ever since the building was erected in 1556. The "Stadtpfeifer" (town pipers) played on festive occasions. In 1723 in the council chamber Johann Sebastian Bach signed his contract as Cantor of St. Thomas's and "Director Musices". The famous portrait of Bach by E. Haußmann is on display here in the museum.
