Regarding Camp Anza Officer's Club. This 1942 officers club was part of Camp Anza, a World War II staging area for the Los Angeles port of embarcation that processed over 625,000 troops enroute to and from the pacific theater as well as Italian prisoners of war. Designed by the quartermaster corps as a 700 series mobilization building, the club hosted dances, shows, and holiday parties to boost morale. A Moose Lodge for several decades after the war, the now-restored private community center retains much of the original exterior wood siding, interior wainscot, double hearth fireplace, and hardwood floors.
