Inscription.
The Chesaw 4th of July Rodeo has been held annually since 1942. Chesaw celebrated the Nation's Independence Day annually from the early 1900's until 1942 with events such as mining competitions, horse races and games. The rodeo facilities were first constructed in the mid-1900's and continue to be improved. Spectators can step back in time and enjoy real life American history at an old fashioned rodeo where non-professionals can compete and children are included. The excitement of watching people you know ride for 8 seconds, milk wild cows, or tie ribbons on tails adds to the thrill. The celebration for adults and children alike includes a dance one night, small sports and a parade before the rodeo, which is always on the 4th of July (rain or shine). The Rodeo is non-profit and benefits community services.
