Bouwjaar 1940. Naar een ontwerp van architect Kropholler. Deze van oudsher door het raadhuis ingenomen plaats bestond vroeger uit een dam in het water De Leek. waaraan de stad Medemblik is ontstaan. Medemblik verkreeg in 1289 stadsrechten en is daardoor de oudste stad in dit gewest.

(Built in 1940 to a design by architect Kropholler. This site, traditionally occupied by the town hall, was formerly a causeway in the waters of De Leek, around which the town of Medemblik developed. Medemblik was granted city rights in 1289, making it the oldest city in this region.)

2. Stadhuis / Town Hall and marker
The marker is visible here on the left corner of the building.
It was built in 1939 based on a design by the traditionalist architect A.J. Kropholler. Kropholler positioned the building on an elevated site aligned with the axis of Nieuwstraat, intended to lend the structure a greater sense of authority.
