1. Gore Manor Marker
Inscription. This Colonial Revival residence was designed by master architect Garrett Beekman Van Pelt, Jr., a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, built for Thomas E. Gore a local citrus grower and bank official. Gore was active in the production and promotion of citriculture, civil service, and community and economic development. He was also critically instrumental in the formation and furtherance of international relations in Riverside, most notably for the establishment of Sendai, Japan as Riverside’s sister city in 1957, making this relationship the oldest of its kind in the nation.
