More about this memorial. When this stone was erected here in the 1930s, the Crystal Beach Cenotaph was here as well; it was relocated to the cemetery in 1999.

Regarding Bobby Burd Memorial. Robert James Burd was born in Ridgeway in 1897. He fought in Canada's 19th Battalion, going overseas in late 1915. He went missing in battle in May 1917. His name is inscribed on the Vimy Ridge memorial, along with 11,000 other Canadian soldiers killed or presumed dead in France with no known grave.
