Inscription. This classical revival house was designed by Los Angeles architect O.P. Dennis for real estate broker William S. Collins. Shortly after its completion Mr. Collins moved to Newport Beach where he led the development of Newport and Balboa. Fine interior woodwork was installed by the second owner, George A. Seaton, a lumber yard owner. Later, the house served as both a rest home for the elderly and as a boarding house until restoration began in 1972. Among its distinctive features is its porte-cochere with a carriage step.
