1. Date Stone Marker
Inscription. The date stone resting below is from Toano High School that was located on this site. The stone was located in the center of the original building above the second floor windows. This school served all grades from 1908 until 1955 when county and city schools were consolidated. About 570 students graduated from Toano High School. The original 1908 building on the left housed the elementary school. The building on the right was built in 1913 and housed the high school.
