This 800-acre tract of land was selected in 1929 for use as the American Telephone and Telegraph (AT&T) International Radio Telephone Transmission Station at Lawrenceville. During its nearly half-century of active use, the Pole Farm provided telephone communications to Europe, South America, the Near East, and Hawaii., Today, the “Pole Farm” is a haven for nature lovers due to its forest and meadow habitats. It also offers plenty of opportunities for adventure-seeking hikers and bikers with miles of trails. Explore along the old AT&T service roads that now serve as park trails., Primary Destinations , London Array , 14 , Transmitter Building , 15 , Pole Farm Historical Exhibit , 16 , Buenos Aires Array , 17 , Observation Tower , 18, London And Buenos Aires Array , The once soaring steel towers of the AT&T Transmission Station can now only be identified by scattered remains in the wooded tree lines that now stand in their place. Walk the old roads (now the LHT) that once serviced these towers and learn about these giants of communication., Transmitter Building , Torn down in 1976, the site of AT&T Transmitter Building One is now a destination on the LHT, with signs and landscape offering a glimpse into the dawn of overseas telephone communications., Pole Farm Historical Exhibit , AT&T Transmitter Building Two, built in 1929, once stood at this very location.
