Taylor Hall
Historic name: Warren K. and Belle R. Dunn House
Built: 1904
Architect: C.W. Buchanan
Builder: D.T. Reed
This building is named for Herbert J. Taylor, a close friend and counselor of Charles and Grace Fuller and a member of the seminary's founding Board of Trustees. President of Club Aluminum Company and later chairman of the board, Taylor was a devoted Christian who established the Christian Workers Foundation and was a charter member of the National Association of Evangelicals. He authored the Rotary Club's "Four Way Test" and served Fuller Theological Seminary with his love and leadership for 31 years.
The Warren K. and Belle R. Dunn Mansion, an early example of craftsman architecture, masterfully combines many distinctive decorative features. The steeply pitched dormers, the intricately carved patterns on columns, beams, and moldings, and the rich detail paid to bargeboards and brackets convey the expensive and elegant, yet unobtrusive tastes of the initial Ford Place residents. The only noticeable alteration from the house's original design is the enclosure of a back porch.
Erected by Fuller Theological Seminary.
