Inscription. This ancient market town with over 1000 years history has something for everyone. It offers a feast of fine buildings in its winding streets. As well as the magnificent St. Mary's Church, a Tide Mill and Windmill, the Museum gives a fascinating and detailed history of the town throughout the centuries.

All are there for you to explore and learn more about the town and its close connections with the River Deben. The town's most famous resident, Thomas Seckford, was a master of the Court of Queen Elizabeth I.

The foundation he set up continues to enhance Woodbridge with many of the fine buildings of Woodbridge commissioned by him including the magnificent Shire Hall. For the sailor, there's a tranquil marina, boatyards and two yacht clubs on the delightful River Deben which skirts the Suffolk Coast & Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is a favourite choice for spectacular riverside walks. There is a huge range of shops, restaurants, cafés and pubs all offering a warm welcome and superb selection.
