This handsome Greek Revival building is the oldest in the block dubbed "Little Wall Street: There have been banks on this block since it was built in the early part of the 19th century. Reorganized as the Catskill National Bank in 1865 when the National Banking Law was enacted, the bank and its building served the area for 150 years until changing hands again in the early 2000s. The exterior of the structure, pictured here in 1903, was altered in 1910 when the first floor was lowered to nearly street level to add height and dignity to the interior. Its neighbors, Catskill Savings Bank and Tanner's Bank, designed by architect Marcus Reynolds, were built in 1909 and 1910 in the Neo-Classical and Beaux Arts styles, respectively.
