1. SS Peter and Paul Church Marker
Inscription. This is the site of the Roman Catholic Parish Church opened in 1822. It was built in the gothic style by Very Rev. Nicholas O’Connor, parish priest, who was responsible for the coming of the Presentation Sisters, in 1824, and the Christian Brothers, in 1847, to provide free education for the people of the town. The Church remained open until 1965, when it was replaced by the new SS Peter and Paul Church at Dublin Road. It was demolished in the 1980s.

2. SS Peter and Paul Church Marker
The marker is located in front of a lot where the church once stood.
The old Parish Church of SS. Peter and Paul was a very fine structure. It was beside the Convent in Church Avenue. It was built in the nineteenth century by the Very Rev. Nicholas O'Connor V.F., who is interred there. It was completed in 1822. The church was demolished entirely several years ago.
