Dallas County, Arkansas
Most of the early settlers were from Alabama. The majority being very successful hunters, trappers and farmers. Some of those family's names were Culbreath, Dedman, Hawkins, Nutt, Sisson, Wood, Jacobs, McMurry, Jones, Wheeler, Naylor, Coleman, Williams and others.
At one time, a post office, three country stores, a lumber mill and a grist mill were in operation in the community. There was also a one room schoolhouse located on the Dedman property. In 1904, Prosperity Baptist Church was established. The church still stands as a landmark for the community and services are still held there to this date. Members of this church have Included several Dallas County Officials and leaders such as County Judges, Sheriff, Tax Assessor, Treasurer, Justice of the Peace and Democratic Committee Members.
The Ramsey Community is unique in its beautiful setting in Dallas County.
