1. University Neighborhood Historic District Marker

Inscription. Built in 1888, this Folk Victorian is accentuated with clapboard, decorative shingle work, half-timbering, nine-over-one windows and three porches. It was originally the home of the vice-president of the University of Wyoming, John D. Conley, who sold it to the president of U.W., Elmer E. Smiley (1888-1903). It was the home of the president of Albany County Bank (1903-1924), the Laramie Episcopal Church Bishop residence and the Kappa Delta sorority house (1924-1946), a boarding house for U.W. students (1946-1966), and a bed & breakfast as recently as 2001.
