Parma
Named in honor of the Independent Spirits of Parma, Italy. State legislation separated Parma and Riga from Northampton April 8, 1808. Second largest and oldest township in Monroe County Hilton Village, "The Apple Capital": pioneered by Jonathan Underwood Michael Beach, 1795 pioneer, entered the American Revolution in 1775, guarding Fort Ticonderoga.
