About Portuguese Paving
The pavement represents the Portuguese alliance with England (United Kingdom now). The Treaty of Windsor is the oldest alliance in the world.
The alliance started in 1373 but renowned in 1386 with the Wedding between Philippa of Lancaster (Princess of England) and King John I (first King of Portugal). Making Philippa the first Queen of Portugal. The artwork is in a circle-representing their wedding ring.
The paving is made from limestone and basalt that can only be found in the mountains of Portugal. It is named Calηada Portuguesa.

Rui Ferreira aka RAF is a street artist from Portugal that painted the largest mural of Europe in Lisbon and created the artwork digitally. The stencil was cut out by hand to use on the installation.
