1. Texas Flag Marker
A beautiful representation of the Texas State Flag. This flag was adopted on January 25, 1839, as the final national flag of the Republic of Texas. After Texas became the 28th U.S. state on December 29, 1845, the same flag became the Texas State Flag.
The Texas state nickname "The Lone Star State" is inspired, in part, by the "Lone Star" in the flag design. The term "Lone Star" can also symbolize Texas' independent spirit. The Texas Flag Code notes the colors of the Texas flag, and their symbolism: blue stands for loyalty, white for purity, and red for bravery.
Historical information on this mural was obtained largely from the book "Cap'n Terrell's Town" written by Dr. Horace Flatt.
