Regarding 90 15th Street. This house was one of the original log structures built by the Harmony Society in 1824 at Economy. There were several similar houses built, but this is the only one remaining. The Harmonists built log structures when they first settled at Economy to live in until the frame and brick houses were built. It is noted that they built log structures on the back of the lot and removed them when the newer structures were completed. This house is an anomaly, being that it was built at the front of the lot, suggesting that it was one of the first log houses built.

2. 90 15th Street Marker

The marker is located at the left of the lower left window.

There is only one other Harmonist log house remaining in the historic district, that being at 1427 Church Street, two houses away from 90 15th Street, which is now covered by wood siding. The Economy Historic District was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 21, 1985.

The village is the last of three settlements established by the Harmony Society in the United States (another in Pennsylvania and one in Indiana). Founded in 1824, it was designated as a National Historic Landmark District in 1965 under the name of "Old Economy".
