Major Bill Adams '60
Flew Huey (UH-1) helicopter similar to this with the A/227th Assault Helicopter Company, In Kostum Province, Vietnam.

On May 25, 1971, he volunteered to attempt a rescue of wounded. Major Adams flew in, picked up survivors, and flew out under heavy fire. His Huey was hit repeatedly, and exploded in mid air, killing all aboard.

For valor above and beyond the call of duty Major Adams was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor.
