Peters, eröffnete 1894 die Musikbibliothek Peters als erste öffentliche Fachbibliothek mit wertvollen Originalhandschriften, unter anderem von Bach, Haydn und Brahms. Heute befindet sich der Bestand der Musikbibliothek Peters in der Stadtbibliothek Leipzig.
