1. St Matthew's Anglican Church Marker
Inscription.
The site for the Anglican Church was selected in 1896
Work on the Church was started in 1897 and the first recorded vestry meeting was held in April, 1898. The chancel and tower were erected in 1910.

In 1926, the grounds were further beautified with a concrete walk and wide cement steps complete with iron railings, to the porch and ornamental double gates were made and erected.

In 1952 the wardens of St. Matthew's Church broughtthe church bell, weighing 300 pounds without frame from the former St. John's Church in Millwood and placed it in the tower of St. Matthew's.

In 1961 the W. A. purchased and had installed the beautiful stained glass window in memory of all those who worshipped in the Church.

In 1967, to commemorate Canada's Centennial new pews and floor coverings were put into the Church, purchased from the Centennial Fund. These were dedicated on Monday April 24th. Much of the woodwork was also painted at this time to give the Church a bright and cheerful interior.

The neon cross was installed in 1970 in memory of Mr. C. Townsend.
