1. Site of Southern Indiana Normal College Marker
Founded April 6, 1880, a coeducational, non-sectarian institution of higher learning with schools of Law, Civil Engineering, Pedagogy, Liberal Arts, Commerce and Music. There were no entrance examinations or required courses. The college was destroyed by fire in 1900 and never reopened.
Erected 1968 by Lawrence County Sesquicentennial Committee.
