1. Stith Cabin (1874) Marker

Inscription. This log cabin was originally built by Henry Harrison Stith in 1874 when he was in his late teens and lived in Rineyville, KY.

The Stith family had moved from Virginia to Kentucky in the early 1800s.

This cabin was disassembled by the Stith family in 1994 (120 years after it was built) to safeguard it from further weathering and was stored in a barn until 2018 when it was reconstructed here at Saunders Springs.

The cabin has a complete second floor (sleeping area) and is Larger (20' X 20') than most other log cabins of that time.
