1. Le Pole Sq. Marker

Inscription. Founded around 1100 AD, the Church of St Michael le Pole was built to serve recently Christianised Hiberno-Norse occupants who lived in the area. Its original round tower stood for over 700 years until 1775. After the church was deconsecrated in 1690, it was used as a schoolhouse until the 18th century.
