The marker references Orange County, NEW JERSEY. There is an Orange County in New York. That Orange county borders New Jersey and the Delaware and Hudson Rivers. But there is no Orange county in New Jersey. There are several municipalities known together as “The Oranges” but they are in Essex County NJ.
