Inscription.
In honor of those whose lives were taken on September 11, 2001, Keep America Beautiful, Inc. as well as individuals and organizations throughout the city of Dodge City have created this memorial as a tribute to our nation and the resilience and strength of its people.

Erected 2002.

2. Liberty Garden Marker
Looking east through Wright Park. The marker is mounted on a masonry pedestal supporting a World Trade Center structural steel artifact.
each pool representing the South and North towers between the towers stands a piece of structural Steel from the World Trade Center at Ground Zero, and a piece of area rock from the crash site near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
The 9/11 Memorial was designed by the Liberty Garden Committee and the Dodge City Puddles and Pads Pond Club. The concept of creating Liberty Gardens across the United States originated with Keep America Beautiful, a national advocate for community beautification. As an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, the City of Dodge City was informed that structural steel from the Twin Towers could be requested. The committee then made the appropriate contacts to obtain items from the two other crash sites.
The Liberty Garden is the site of Dodge City’s annual September 11 Day of Remembrance Service. The community, along with law enforcement officers, firefighters, and first responders, gathers to pause and remember those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks, as well as the servicemen and women who continue to serve in the fight against terrorism.
