1. Porte du Chapitre / Chapter Gate Marker
Au Moyen Âge, la cathédrale est desservie par un chapitre de 72 chanoines regroupés dans un vaste quartier clos, qui s’organise comme une ville dans la ville avec école, bibliothèque, cellier, boulangerie, réfectoire, commerces, auditoire de justice et prison. Les chanoines gèrent aussi l’Hôtel-Dieu (situé à la place de l’actuel Palais de Justice).
Le Chapitre disparaît après la Révolution. Aujourd’hui, seules sont visibles la maison du Trésorier et la porte du Chapitre datant du XVIᵉ siècle.
La porte a été déplacée pierre par pierre lors de la reconstruction de Reims afin d’entrer dans l’alignement de la rue Carnot.

The Chapter disappeared after the Revolution. All that is visible today are the Treasurer’s house and the Chapter gate dating from the 16th century.
The gate was relocated stone by stone during the reconstruction of Reims in order to align it with rue Carnot.

Das Kapitel verschwand in der Revolution. Erhalten blieben als Ruine das Haus, in dem der Verwalter des Domschatzes wohnte, und die Pforte des Kapitels aus dem 16. Jahrhundert.
Letztere wurde beim Wiederaufbau von Reims abgetragen und in der verbreiterten Rue Carnot Stein für Stein rekonstruiert.
